Parc des Princes Stadium

Sporting monument in France.
Proposed in 1967 by General de Gaulle and designed in 1972 by Roger Taillibert, the Parc des Princes stadium was an extremely avant-garde construction at this time: 50 reinforced concrete frames support the large ring-shaped roof. The grandstand seating is built on two levels, a gallery located in the lower part (23,000 seats) and another gallery located on the upper part (27,000 places).
It was President Georges Pompidou who inaugurated the Parc des Princes in June 1972, the same day as the 55th final of the Coupe de France Football.
In 1973, the Paris-Saint Germain football club became the resident team at the Parc des Princes.
